The Cadillac Cien was CGI’s first ever project. The brief called for a fully-functioning carbon-fibre prototype, capable of demonstrating the 850 bhp V12 powerplant specifically designed for the Cien.
CGI’s engineering and manufacturing expertise meant this brief was fulfilled and the Cien was completed in a very short timeframe. The Cien was unveiled at the 2002 Detroit Auto Show and also at LeMans as the centrepiece of Cadillac’s 100th birthday celebrations, marking the start of a successful partnership with Cadillac’s parent firm General Motors and CGI which continues to this day.
“There aren’t many companies that bring it all together and do what they say they are going to do, There has to be an element of trust there and I trust the CGI process.”
Simon Cox, Director GM Advanced Design UK
